SisterHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PLANTS (Stp)

Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants sprouted in 2020—the first Christmas during the global COVID pandemic. It was a time where creating and giving felt deeply valued and appreciated. It was also a time of self-healing that led me to my love for gardening. Plants became my therapy and allowed for my innate desire to “care” for others have a place of reciprocation.

The inaugural edition went to my sister, Hope and sister-in-law, Astachea. I chose an aloe plant that spawned several babies over the years. The mother plant was given to me from a woman who I had met through my love of letterpress. I can’t recall her name—but I see her face and kindness each time I look at that plant. Her kindness was linked to this idea long before it came into being.

Consider joining the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants by choosing a plant that multiplies and gifting it to another sister. They don’t have to be blood relatives. Instead, someone who has given love and grown with you over the years. The inaugural edition went to my sister, Hope and sister-in-law, Astachea. My two sisters were the first to recieve a STP and I hope they will multiply and carry on over the years. Each year I continue the tradition by adding new sisters. I hope you will do the same.
